Oprindu-se ele acolo, fără de veste a ajuns bărbatul ei şi tatăl fetelor, având şi slujitori, ca să prindă vânatul. Deci dacă le prinseră, le duseră la Ierapole şi acolo fiind un râu ce înconjura locul, şi persecutorii punându-se sa păzească, s-au dat după băuturi; ele atunci se furişară, şi făcându-şi ruga din pripă, s-au aruncat în apă şi le-a luat repejunea apei şi s-au săvârşit înecate de apă.
