Acesta este numele icoanei Preasfintei Nascatoare de Dumnezeu, pe care Sfîntul Sava Sîrbul a adus-o de la Mînastirea Sfîntului Sava cel Sfintit, de lînga Ierusalim.Si asa s-a împlinit prorocia Sfîntului Sava cel Sfintit, pe care o facuse cam cu optsute de ani mai înainte, ca va vani un anume preot sîrb cu numele Sava, si caacestuia i se vor da un toiag arhieresc si aceasta icoana. Cînd Sfîntul Sava Sîrbul acercetat Mînastirea Sfîntului Sava cel Sfintit, monahii si-au amintit de prorociaîntemeietorului mînastirii lor si i-au daruit lui Sava cel din Serbia toiagul si icoana.Aceasta icoana a fost asezata de-a dreapta Usilor împaratesti de pe iconostatsul sihastriei Sfîntului Sava din Karies, în Sfîntul Munte Athos [numita «Casa tacerii»], iar toiagul a fost pus într-o chilie alaturata, cunoscuta sub numele de «Paterica».
