Sfintii Pavel si luliana erau frati de sînge, din cetatea Ptolemais din Fenicia. Ei au fost torturati cu salbaticie pentru credinta lor în Hristos de catre împaratul Aurelius, iar la sfîrsit au fost omorîti prin decapitare, înainte de a fi muceniciti multe minuni s-au aratat prin ei, la care au stat martori multi pagîni. Datorita acelor minuni, multi dintre acei pagîni s-au convertit la Hristos. Mai multi dintre ei chiar au fost si ei omorîti prin decapitare tot atunci, primind si ei cununile muceniciei, împreuna cu Pavel si cu luliana, la anul 273 dupa Hristos.
