Aceşti trei sfinţi mucenici, de neamul lor dintr-o ţară de la miazănoapte, fiind prinşi de barbarii închinători la idoli, au fost duşi la stăpânitorul locului, care, văzând că mucenicii mărturisesc pe Hristos, i-a osândit să piară prin îngheţare. Deci sfinţii au fost legaţi de nişte stâlpi, înfipţi în apa unui râu. Şi era iarnă. Apa a îngheţat ajungând nemişcătoare ca şi trupurile nemişcate ale sfinţilor. În acest chip şi-au sfârşit viaţa şi şi-au dat sufletele lor fericite în mâinile lui Dumnezeu.
