Pentru dragostea lui Hristos Piama nu a voit sa se marite, ci s-a dedicat unei vieti de asceza în casa mamei ei. Ea mînca foarte putin, si numai o data la doua zile. Cea mai mare parte a timpului si-o petrecea în rugaciune si cugetari dumnezeiesti. Sfînta Piama avea darul deosebirii duhurilor. Ea a adormit cu pace, logodindu-si sufletul Stapînului Hristos, cam pe la anul 337 de la întrupare.
