Aceasta cuvioasa maica Domnica a trait în zilele marelui împarat Teodosie, si a ajuns pâna în zilele lui Leon si Zenon, care au împaratit în anii 474-491. Domnica era din cetatea Cartaginei de lânga Carhidon. Si dupa o rânduiala de la Dumnezeu, s-a dus la Constantinopol, împreuna ca alte patru fecioare. Iar Nectarie, care era atunci patriarh, fiind îndemnat de o descoperire dumnezeiasca, le-a primit si le-a botezat. Deci, cuvioasa Domnica intrând în viata calugareasca, s-a luptat cu osteneli si a ajuns la schimnicie desavârsita, învrednicindu-se sa faca si minuni. Si proorocind multora despre cele ce aveau sa fie, s-a mutat catre Domnul.
