Această sfântă era de neam ales, bogată şi evlavioasă; şi mulţi tineri o cereau în căsătorie pentru frumuseţea ei înfloritoare şi pentru averea ei cea multă. Dar ea îşi înălţa tot mai mult dorul către Dumnezeu. Pentru aceasta a părăsit cu totul grijile lumeşti şi şi-a dat toată silinţa spre adăugirea îmbunătăţirii sufletului, prin înfrânare. Biruind deci pe vicleanul luptător diavolul, s-a mutat cu mintea către Dumnezeu, mai înainte de despărţirea de trup.
