Ei sînt praznuiti la Duminica de dupa Nasterea Domnului. Aflam mai multe despre Regele David din Cartile Regilor din Vechiul Testament, iar despre Sfîntul lacob, în douazeci si trei de zile ale lunii octombrie. Despre Dreptul losif se spune în Sfînta Scriptura ca a fost un om drept (Matei 1: 19), din care pricina Domnul 1-a ales pe el spre paza vietii Preasfintei Fecioare Maria si lui i-a daruit marea cinste de a face parte directa din maretul plan de mîntuire a lumii. Desi Dreptul losif era din spita regala a casei lui David, el a fost cu îndeletnicirea teslar umil la Nazaret. I s-a încredintat Dreptului losif grija vietii Fecioarei Maria pe cînd el era în vîrsta de optzeci de ani. El s-a savîrsit catre Domnul în vîrsta fiind de una suta si zece ani.
