Ea fost monahie, slujitoarea Sfintului Vasile cel Nou (vezi pomenirea lui la 26 martie). Dupa moarte, ea i s-a aratat Sfintului Grigorie, un ucenic al Sfîntului Vasile, si i-a descris în amanunt cele douazeci de vami ale vazduhului prin care trebuie sa treaca sufletul omului cînd iese la ceasul mortii din trup, prin care vami si ea a trecut, pentru rugaciunile Simtului Vasile, la odihna vesnica. Sfînta Teodora s-a savîrsit catre Domnul în treizeci de zile ale lunii decembrie, din anul 940.
