Sfantul Cuvios Timotei a fost ucenic al Cuviosului Teoctist, staretul manastirii din muntele Olimpului, langa pustiul Simboli, in timpul imparatului Copronim (741-775). A trait multi ani in pustietati, nevoindu-se in post, infranare si rugaciuni. A primit darul de a tamadui bolnavii si de a scoate din oameni duhurile necurate. A trecut la cele vesnice la adanci batraneti.
