Acest Sfînt Nathanael a fost un pustnic din desertul nitric. El s-a rugat lui Dumnezeu ziua si noaptea, si s-a luminat de sus, prin rugaciunile si cugetarile cele dumnezeiesti. El nu a iesit din chilia sa timp de treizeci si opt de ani, nici de prag apropiindu-se. El s-a savîrsit catre Domnul în a doua jumatate a veacului al saselea.
