Sfinta Ana aceasta a fost o femeie aristocrata de la Constantinopol care, dupa moartea sotului ei, a fost tunsa în monahism de catre Sfintul Stefan Noul Mucenic. Pe aceasta femeie a obligat-o împaratul Constantin Copronimul sa declare ca a avut legaturi necuvenite cu Sfîntul Stefan, spre a îl discredita pe Sfint înaintea poporului. Cinstita Ana a refuzat cu hotarîre sa comita mîrsava crima împotriva Sfîntului, si parintelui ei duhovnicesc. Pentru aceasta ea a fost biciuita si aruncata în temnita, unde si-a dat sfîntul ei suflet în mîinile lui Dumnezeu.
