Гонет од своите роднини, го напушти светот и се замонаши. Киевјаните, незадоволни од династијата Олгович, посакаа да ја истребат. Јурнаа на манастирот, го фатија невиниот и младиот схимник Игор и го убија. За ова злосторство многу беди ги снајдоа киевјаните. А на гробот на блажениот видоа свеќи коишто се запалија сами од себе, и тоа неколкупати. Над црквата каде што беше погребан се гледаше огнен столб. Ова се случи во 1147 година.
