Атанасиј Велики што му велел на својот ученик: „Кога ќе слушнеш некој збор од книгите на Свети Атанасиј, ако немаш хартија запиши го на рака.“ На старост дојде во Антиохија кај патријархот Григориј (+584г.) и тука го заврши својот земен живот. Патријархот нареди телото на Козма да се погреба во манастирот на Патријаршијата. Еден човек често доаѓаше на Козминиот гроб и чевствувајќи го Светителот, Му се молеше на Бога. Кога го прашаа зошто прави така, објави дека дванаесет години лежел фатен и дека Свети Козма го исцелил.
