По народност Ерменин. Игумен на манастирот Фаран под Синајската Гора. Кога блажениот Анастасиј беше протеран од престолот, Григориј и покрај неговата волја беше поставен за патријарх антиохиски. Многу пофално за него пишува и блажениот патријарх Софрониј во својот Лемонар. Се одликуваше со особено милосрдие, особено кон грешниците. Се упокои во Господ во 593 година.
