Од бројот на Седумдесеттемина апостоли. Аристарх беше епископ во Апамија Сириска. Апостолот Павле го спомнува неколкупати (Дела 19, 29; Колосјани 4, 10; Филимон 23). Во Ефес беше фатен од толпата заедно со Гај. Тој народ тогаш се беше кренал против Св. апостол Павле. Павле им пишува на Колосјаните: „Ве поздравува Аристарх којшто е со мене во ропство“. Во Посланието до Филимон Павле го нарекува Аристарх свој помошник, заедно со Марко, Димас и Лука.
