Главното празнување му е на 17 март и на Лазарова Сабота во Чесниот Пост. Под денешниот датум се празнува преносот на неговите мошти од островот Кипар во Цариград. Царот Лав Мудриот изгради храм на Св. Лазар во Цариград и неговите мошти ги пренесоа таму во 890 година. Кога после близу илјада години го откопаа Лазаровиот горб во градот Китија на Кипар, најдоа мермерна плоча со натпис: „Лазар Четиридневниот, пријател Христов.“
