Родум од Ерусалим. Другар на Св. Јован Дамаскин, чиишто родители го зедоа Козма како сираче и го одгледаа и воспитаа. Како монах му помагаше на Св. Јован во составувањето на Октоихот. И самиот ги воспеа светителите со многубројни канони. Со особена убавина и длабочина се одликуваат неговите канони на Лазарова Сабота, на Цветници, на Страсната Седмица. Беше
