Дада беше персиски големец и роднина на царот Сапор. Говделај беше син на тој цар. Кога Св. Дада јавно ја исповеда својата вера во Христа, царот Сапор нареди и го мачеа со лути маки. Но при овие маки Свети Дада изврши големи чуда со Христовото име, што остави голем впечаток на царевиот син Говделај, па и тој поверува во Христа. Незнабожниот цар не го поштеди ни својот син, туку и него го удри на тешки маки. И Дада и Говделај Го прославија Бога со истрајно трпење и со многубројни чуда и во маки Му ги предадоа своите души Нему. Пострадаа во 4 век. Со нив пострадаа зашто поверуваа во Христа Каздоја, сестрата на Говделај и главниот жрец Гаргал.
