Син на српскиот деспот Стефан и на преподобната мајка Ангелина. Замонашен во манастирот Манасија. Притеснет од Турците побегна во Романија, каде што го посветија на испразнетиот престол на архиепископот Влахозадпланински. Ги измири раскараните војводи Радул и Богдан и ја спречи војната меѓу нив. На постари години се врати во Крушедол, каде што го подигна манастирот и после подолг подвиг се упокои на 18 јануари 1546 година. Неговите нетлени и чудотоворни мошти и денес почиваат во тој манастир.
