Како жена на имотен и благочестив човек живееше на островот Егина. Но кога Арапите ја загрозија Егина, тие се преселија во Солун. Овде својата единица ќерка ја дадоа во манастир. Во монаштво го доби името Теописта. Наскоро мажот на Теодора се упокои, та и Теодора се замонаши. Беше голема подвижничка. Често слушала ангелско пеење и им говорела на сестрите: „Не слушате ли колку прекрасно пеат ангелите во небесното светилиште?“ Се упокои во седумдесет и петтата година од животот, во 879 година. Од нејзиното тело потече целебно миро, од коешто многумина се исцелија.
