Оваа Христова маченичка е родена во Бруса, од благочестиви родители. Штотуку се омажи за еден христијанин, во неа се загледа еден Турчин од соседството, па ја повикуваше на грев со него. Христољубивата Аргира ги одбиваше нечистите предлози на Турчинот. Но овој се разбесни и ја обвини на судот дека божем сакала да прими ислам, па се откажала. Од судија до судија, од затвор до затвор, Света Аргира помина цели петнаесет години страдајќи за Христа. Зашто Го љубеше Господ над сѐ. Најпосле се упокои во затворот во Цариград во 1725 година.
