Споменот на овој голем апостол и евангелист се празнува на 26 септември. А на 8 мај се споменува чудото пројавено на неговиот гроб. Имено, кога Јован имаше повеќе од сто години, зеде седуммина од своите ученици, излезе од Ефес и им нареди на учениците да му ископаат гроб во вид на крст. Потоа старецот слезе жив во гробот и беше погребан. Кога подоцна верните го отворија Јовановиот гроб, не го најдоа телото во гробот. А на 8 мај секоја година се креваше некоја прашина од неговиот гроб, од која се исцелуваа болни од разни болести.
