Обајцата беа Мисирци. Мачени од царот Јулијан Отстапник. Првиот имаше седумдесет и пет години, вториот четириесет и пет. Царот успеа да го одврати Коприј од Христовата вера и да го приклони кон идолите. Коприј извика: „На Јулијан му припаѓам, не на Христа!“ Но старецот Патермутиј го укори и му спомна за вечните маки, а Коприј се сепна, па извика пред царот:„Му припаѓам на Христос, а не на Јулијан!“ На обајцата им ги отсекоа главите со меч. Со нив пострада и Александар, еден од војниците на царот, којшто гледајќи ја нивната храброст во страдањето и самиот стана христијанин. Чесно пострадаа за Христа и кај Него заминаа во 361 година.
