Овој руски Светител од младоста се подвизуваше во неколку манастири: во Соловецкиот, Мирожскиот и др. Најпосле основа свој манастир на реката Луга во Вологодската губернија. Се подвизуваше тврдокорно додека душата не му се исполни со благодатната светлина и сила на Светиот Дух. Како голем светилник привлече многумина кон подвижничкиот живот. Наречен е Устнедумски бидејќи еднаш кога го касна отровна змија тој за тоа не сакаше ни да мисли ни да зборува, па остана жив. Откако Му угоди на Бога, се престави мирно на 17 јули 1653 година. Неговите мошти почиваат во неговиот манастир.
