Родум од Вриул во Мала Азија. Во седумнаесеттата година насилно потурчен. Имаше слична судбина како Свети Никодим. Кога како Турчин ѝ се јави на мајка му, таа му свика: „Оди си од мене, не те познавам. Јас те родив како христијанин, а не како Турчин.“ Тој горко се покаја, отиде на Света Гора и се замонаши во скитот на Света Ана. Решен да загине за Христа и да се очисти од својот грев, отиде пак во Вриул, каде што пострада. Заклан од Турците заради Христа во местото на своето раѓање, во дваесет и првата година од неговиот живот, на 11 јули 1820 година.
