Светиот апостол Петар го постави за епископ и го испрати во незнабожечката Галија, каде што Свети Јулијан претрпе големи неволји, но успеа да обрати во Христовата вера многуброен народ. Кога го крсти кнезот Дефенсон, тогаш мнозина поданици на овој кнез се приклонија кон вистинската вера. Со благодатта Божја правеше големи чуда: исцелуваше болни, изгонуваше демони и воскреснуваше мртви. Животот го заврши мирно и во времето на својата смрт му се јави насред бел ден на кнезот Дефенсон додека овој седеше на ручек.
