Кога татарскиот цар Ахнет ја опколи Москва, кнезот Јован Василевич тргна со војска да ја брани Москва. Иако војската на овој кнез беше малубројна и послаба од војската татарска, сепак таа излезе победоносна. Зашто навали одеднаш неопислив страв на Татарите, та се збунија и се разбегаа. Овој неочекуван успех сите ѝ го припишуваа на иконата на Пресвета Богородица пред којашто народот се молеше за избавување од Татарите. Заради ова во Русија е одреден за спомен на ова чудо денот 23 јуни.
