Во времето на свирепиот цар Јулијан, којшто се одрече од Христа, Свети Тимотеј беше фрлен во затвор. Верните го посетуваа и во затворот за да слушнат мудра поука од својот архипастир. Кога дозна за тоа, Јулијан нареди џелатот да му ја отсече главата во затворот. Ова беше во 362 година. Неговата душа отиде во Рајот, а моштите останаа чудотворно да им помагаат на луѓето и да ја објавуваат силата Божја.
