Во времето на гонењето на Валеријан, кога мнозина христијани беа затворени, Кодрат ги потплатуваше затворските власти и влегуваше по затворите, им носеше потребни намирници на заробените и ги утврдуваше во верата. Кога беа изведени пред судијата и прашани за името, татковината и статусот, тие молчеа. Тогаш зад нив се појави Кодрат кој извика на сиот глас: „Христијани сме по име, благодарни слуги на Господ Исус Христос, а град и татковина ни е небото“. После оваа изјава го подложија на суд и по долги маки го убија заедно со другите.
