Голем ревнител и заштитник на Православието. Како таков особено се истакна на Првиот Вселенски Собор, каде што мудро и разумно го поби учењето на Ариј. Заедно со останатите Свети отци Евстатиј правилно исповедаше дека според Божествената суштина Исус Христос како Син Божји е рамен на Отецот и на Светиот Дух. После смртта на Св. цар Константин ариевците повторно некако претегнаа и почнаа немилосрдно да го гонат Православието. Свети Евстатиј беше симнат од неговиот престол и протеран најпрво во Тракија, а потоа во Македонија. Многу и долго страдаше, додека најпосле не Му ја предаде својата света душа на Бога, во 345 година.
