Родум од Ерменија. Поттикнат од Господовите зборови: „...секој којшто остави татко или мајка заради Моето име, ќе прими стопати повеќе и ќе наследи живот вечен“, Никон остави навистина сѐ заради Христа и отиде во еден манастир, се замонаши. Кога се восоврши во сите добродетели, го напушти манастирот и тргна да им го проповеда на луѓето Евангелието. Непрестајно викаше: „Покајте се!“ Заради ова и го завикаа Покајание. Како проповедник обиколуваше по цела Анатолија и Пелопонез. Вршеше чуда со името Христово. Мирно премина при љубениот Господ во Спарта, во 998 година.
