Роден е во Сицилија близу градот Акрагант, каде што подоцна беше епископ. Неговите родители, Харитон и Теодотија, беа благоверни. Сиот негов живот е проткаен со прекрасни Божји чуда. На чудесен начин отиде во Ерусалим, на чудесен начин беше избран за епископ, на чудесен начин се спаси од клевета. И самиот беше голем чудотворец, зашто беше голем угодник Божји, голем духовник и подвижник. Учествуваше на V Вселенски Собор во Цариград. После тешките искушенија се упокои мирно во почетокот на 7 век (или на крајот од 6 век).
