Οι Άγιοι αυτοί ήταν κάτοικοι της Νικομήδειας και καθημερινά πήγαιναν στο αμφιθέατρο και συστηματικά δίδασκαν και κατηχούσαν ειδωλολάτρες. Αυτό είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα, πολλοί ειδωλολάτρες να πιστέψουν στον Χριστό και το αμφιθέατρο σχεδόν άδειασε από θεατές άπρεπων θεαμάτων. Ο άρχοντας της Νικομήδειας παρατήρησε την αραίωση των θεατών, έμαθε την αίτια και διέταξε την άμεση σύλληψη των τεσσάρων Αγίων. Αυτοί δεν δίστασαν και μπροστά του να ομολογήσουν τον Χριστό και τα έργα που επιτελούσαν για την αγάπη Του. Εξοργισμένος ο άρχοντας διέταξε και τους βασάνισαν σκληρά. Κατόπιν τους έριξαν ζωντανούς στη φωτιά και έτσι ένδοξα έλαβαν όλοι το στεφάνι του μαρτυρίου.
