Ο Άγιος Νικόδημος ο Αγιορείτης υποθέτει ότι ο Όσιος αυτός είναι ο λεγόμενος Πάνδεκτος (δηλαδή ο συγγραφέας της Πανδέκτου), που έζησε στα μέσα του 7ου αιώνα μ.Χ. και καταγόταν από τη Γαλατία και ήταν μοναχός στη Μονή του Αγίου Σάββα στα Ιεροσόλυμα. Αυτός μάλιστα, περιέγραψε και την άλωση της Ιερουσαλήμ από τους Άραβες και θρήνησε το φόνο των μοναχών της Λαύρας από τους επιδρομείς. Για τον Αντίοχο καλή μελέτη έγραψε ο Αρχιμανδρίτης Κάλλιστος (1910 μ.Χ.) και ο Ι. Φωκυλίδης στο έργο του «Ἡ Ἱερὰ Λαύρα Σάββα τοῦ ἡγιασμένου».
