Ο Άγιος Πάμφιλος έζησε στα χρόνια του βασιλιά Μαξιμιανού και όταν άρχοντας της Παλαιστίνης ήταν ο Ουρβανός (298 μ.Χ.). Ο Άγιος Πάμφιλος ήταν στολισμένος με πολλές αρετές και πέθανε μετά από πολλά βασανιστήρια μέσα στη φυλακή, μαζί με άλλους ομολογητές της χριστιανικής πίστης.
