Ο Σαδώθ (ή Σαδώκ ή Σαδώχ) έζησε περί το 330 μ.Χ. και πιστεύοντας στο Χριστό έγινε επίσκοπος της μικρής χριστιανικής κοινότητας της Περσίας. Λόγω του φιλανθρωπικού του έργου ήταν αγαπητός όχι μόνο από τους χριστιανούς αλλά και από τους ειδωλολάτρες κάτι που ενοχλούσε τους ιερείς των Περσών. Γι' αυτό τον κατηγόρησαν στον Σαπώρ. Αυτός πιστεύοντάς τους, κάλεσε τον Άγιο να απολογηθεί και να αρνηθεί το Χριστό. Ο Σαδώθ αρνήθηκε και γι' αυτό οδηγήθηκε στο δήμιο μαζί με εκατόν είκοσι Χριστιανούς που ανήκαν στο μικρό αλλά εκλεκτό ποίμνιό του.
