Οι Άγιοι αυτοί κατάγονταν από την Ιταλία και έζησαν στα χρόνια του βασιλιά Τραϊανού (98 μ.Χ.). Όταν έγινε ο διωγμός κατά των χριστιανών, επιβιβάστηκαν σ' ένα πλοίο και απέπλευσαν στην πόλη του Δυρραχίου. Εκεί όταν είδαν το μαρτύριο του Αγίου Αστείου (βλέπε 6 Ιουλίου), επισκόπου Δυρραχίου, τον μακάρισαν και συνελήφθηκαν. Στη συνέχεια αφού ομολόγησαν ότι είναι χριστιανοί, με διαταγή του ανθύπατου Αγρικόλα, τους έριξαν στο Αδριατικό πέλαγος και έτσι πήραν το αμάραντο στεφάνι του μαρτυρίου. Τα δε άγια λείψανα τους, αφού βγήκαν έξω από τη θάλασσα, παραχώθηκαν στην άμμο. Μετά 70 χρόνια, φανερώθηκαν στον επίσκοπο της Αλεξάνδρειας, ο όποιος, αφού τα παρέλαβε, τα έθαψε με τιμές και έκτισε στ' όνομα τους μικρή Εκκλησία.
