Οἱ Ἅγιοι αὐτοὶ Μάρτυρες μαρτύρησαν ἐπὶ βασιλέως τῆς Περσίας Σαβωρίου (325 – 379 μ.Χ.). Ὁ ἀσεβὴς βασιλέας τῶν Περσῶν, ἀφοῦ κυρίευσε τὴν ἐπικράτεια τῶν Βυζαντινῶν καὶ κατέστρεψε πολλὰ κάστρα καὶ χῶρες, συνέλαβε πολλοὺς αἰχμαλώτους ἀπὸ τοὺς Χριστιανούς. Ἀπὸ αὐτοὺς ἄλλοι σφαγιάσθηκαν καὶ ἄλλοι πέθαναν στὸν δρόμο ἀπὸ κακουχίες. Οἱ ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι Μάρτυρες ὁδηγήθηκαν στὴν Περσία δεμένοι μὲ ἁλυσίδες καὶ κλείσθηκαν στὴ φυλακή. Ἐπειδὴ οἱ Ἅγιοι ὁμολόγησαν τὴν πίστη τους στὸν Χριστὸ καὶ ἀρνοῦνταν νὰ θυσιάσουν στὰ εἴδωλα, ὁ Σαβώριος τοὺς ἔριξε μέσα σὲ φωτιὰ καὶ ἔτσι τελειώθηκε ὁ βίος τους.
