Ο Άγιος Μάρτυς Γαβριήλ γεννήθηκε το έτος 1684 μ.Χ. στο χωριό Ζβιέρκιυ, που βρίσκεται νότια της πόλεως Μπιαλιστόκ της επαρχίας Ζαμπλουντόου, κατά την εποχή που γίνονταν διωγμοί και διακρίσεις κατά της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας από τους Ουνίτες στην Πολωνία. Όταν ο Άγιος ήταν σε ηλικία 6 ετών, απήχθηκε και οδηγήθηκε στην πόλη Μπιαλιστόκ, όπου και μαρτύρησε, το έτος 1690, από τους εχθρούς της Εκκλησίας. Όταν τον 18ο αιώνα μ.Χ. οι Χριστιανοί άνοιξαν τον τάφο του, βρήκαν το ιερό λείψανό του άφθορο. Το άγιο σκήνωμα μεταφέρθηκε στην πόλη Μπιαλιστόκ της Πολωνίας, όπου παρέμεινε μέχρι τον Β' Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο, οπότε μεταφέρθηκε στη Ρωσία, στο ναό της Υπεραγίας Σκέπης του Γκρόντνο. Με την ευλογία του Ρώσου Μητροπολίτου Φιλαρέτου, στις 21 Σεπτεμβρίου του έτους 1992, το ιερό λείψανο μετακομίσθηκε με τιμές και ευλάβεια στην πόλη του Μπιαλιστόκ.
