Κατά τα τελευταία έτη του αυτοκράτορος Κωνσταντίνου του Πορφυρογέννητου (913 - 959 μ.Χ.) εδηλώθη σε αυτόν ότι σε κάποια σημεία της Πόλεως κρύπτονται εσθήτες των Αγίων Αποστόλων. Έτσι, αφού τις ανέλαβε, τις αποθησαύρισε στο ναό των Αγίων Αποστόλων.
