Η μνήμη του αγνοείται από τους Συναξαριστές και αναγράφεται από τον Γεδεών στο Βυζαντινό Εορτολόγιο (σελ. 110). Εκεί αναφέρεται ότι γεννήθηκε στην Κωνσταντινούπολη από γονείς επίσημους, τον δρουγγάριο Νικηφόρο και τη Μαρία. Ανατράφηκε με ευσέβεια στη Βιζύη τη Θράκης και εκάρη μοναχός από τον αδελφό του Συμεών, κατεβαίνοντας από τον Κυμηνά. Ήταν ευσεβής, ελεήμων και ασκητικότατος. Οσιακά αφού έζησε , απεβίωσε ειρηνικά και το τίμιο λείψανο του κατατέθηκε στο Μονή της Θεοτόκου της Κορώνης.
