Οι Άγιοι αυτοί έζησαν στα χρόνια του βασιλιά Διοκλητιανού (302 μ.Χ.) και για την πίστη τους στον Χριστό υπέμειναν πολλές βρισιές και μαστιγώσεις από τους στρατιώτες της πόλης Αφροδισίας της Καριάς (χώρα της Μικράς Ασίας, που καταλάμβανε την νοτιοδυτική γωνία της, απέναντι του χώρου μεταξύ των νησιών Σάμου και Ρόδου). Τελικά λιθοβολήθηκαν από τους ίδιους και έτσι παρέδωσαν την ψυχή τους στον στεφανοδότη Θεό.
