Ο Όσιος Γεώργιος έζησε κατά τον 10ο αιώνα μ.Χ. Κατά τον Παρισινό Κώδικα ήκμασε επί Ιωάννου Α' του Τσιμισκή (969 - 976 μ.Χ.), κατά δε τον Κώδικα της Βιέννης επί Ρωμανού και Κωνσταντίνου των Πορφυρογέννητων (956 - 963 μ.Χ.). Η μνήμη του αναφέρεται, επίσης, στον Λαυρεωτικό Κώδικα.
