Ο Όσιος Υπάτιος ο θεραπευτής έζησε κάνοντας αυστηρή νηστεία. Τις νύχτες, έκανε προσευχές, κοιμόταν λίγο, έτρωγε λίγο ψωμί και έπινε μόνο νερό. Ο Όσιος Υπάτιος αφιερώθηκε εξ ολοκλήρου στην υπηρεσία των αρρώστων, και έλαβε από το Θεό το δώρο της θεραπείας.
