Ήταν στρατιώτες και οι δύο στη Νικομήδεια και έζησαν στα χρόνια του Διοκλητιανου. Ειδωλολάτρες στην αρχή, εδίωκαν σκληρά τους χριστιανούς, συνέπρατταν μάλιστα στις φυλακίσεις και τους βασανισμούς τους. Άλλ' ο Χριστός έκανε το θαύμα του και επί των διωκτών αυτών. Ή χάρη Του άνοιξε τα μάτια τους και τους έφερε στην πίστη Του. Ένθερμοι δε τώρα χριστιανοί και κήρυκες του Λυτρωτή τους, διαλαλούσαν ελεύθερα το όνομα Του και προσπαθούσαν να πολλαπλασιάζουν τις φάλαγγες των οπαδών Του. Όταν καταγγέλθηκαν στη Νικομήδεια, έμειναν σταθεροί στην ομολογία τους και καταδικάστηκαν σε θάνατο. Στην αρχή έσχισαν τις σάρκες τους με σιδερένια όργανα, και κατόπιν τους θανάτωσαν αφού τους έριξαν μέσα σε αναμμένο καμίνι.
