Οι Άγιοι αυτοί διώχθηκαν από τον Αρειανόφιλο βασιλιά Ουάλεντα (364 μ.Χ.) και αφού υπέφεραν πολλά βάσανα και ταλαιπωρίες, τελικά τους έβαλαν μέσα σε πλοίο και τους άφησαν στ' ανοιχτά της θάλασσας. Όταν έφτασαν στον Αστακινό κόλπο, οι Αρειανοί έστειλαν δικούς τους ανθρώπους με μια βάρκα και έβαλαν φωτιά στο πλοίο. Έτσι όλοι αυτοί οι Άγιοι, παραδόθηκαν ανήμποροι στις φλόγες της φωτιάς και στο βυθό της θάλασσας (35ος τόμος Migne).
