Ο Άγιος Αρκάδιος γεννήθηκε στην Αρσινόη της Κύπρου και ήταν γιος ευσεβών και πλουσίων γονέων, του Μιχαήλ και της Άννας. Ο Αρκάδιος μορφώθηκε πολύ καλά στην Κωνσταντινούπολη και επανήλθε στην ιδιαίτερη πατρίδα του Αρσινόη. Έγινε πολύ γνωστός για τους ασκητικούς του αγώνες και για τις μεγάλες του αρετές. Έτσι όταν πέθανε ο άγιος Νίκων, ο Αρκάδιος εκλέχθηκε διάδοχος του στο θρόνο της Αρσινόης. Αφού ποίμανε το ποίμνιο του θεάρεστα, απεβίωσε ειρηνικά την 29η Αυγούστου. Αυτός είχε και αδελφό τον Άγιο Θεοσέβειο τον Αρσινοήτη.
