Ο Άγιος Αντώνιος επίσκοπος Σάρδης είναι άγνωστος στους Συναξαριστές και τα Μηναία. Η μνήμη του αναφέρεται, μαζί με τον Μάρτυρα Λούππο, στον Σιναϊτικό Κώδικα 631. Ο Αντώνιος αυτός ήταν επί εποχής Νικολάου του Μυστικού Πατριάρχου Κωνσταντινουπόλεως, ο όποιος κατά τη δεύτερη πατριαρχία του (912-925), έστειλε στον Αντώνιο θερμή φιλική επιστολή, που αναδημοσίευσε ο Σεβασμιότατος Μητροπολίτης Σάρδεων Γερμανός στο Παράρτημα της μελέτης του, περί της Εκκλησίας των Σάρδεων σ. 106. Στον προαναφερθέντα Σιναϊτικό Κώδικα, υπάρχει κοινός Κανόνας Παρακλητικός στον Μάρτυρα Λούππο και τον Αντώνιο επίσκοπο Σάρδεων.
