Οἱ Ἅγιοι αὐτοὶ Μάρτυρες κατάγονταν ἀπὸ τὴ Ρώμη καὶ ἄθλησαν κατὰ τοὺς χρόνους τοῦ αὐτοκράτορος Μάρκου Αὐρηλίου (161 – 180 μ.Χ.). Κατηγορηθέντες ὡς Χριστιανοὶ κατὰ τὸν τότε ἐναντίον τῶν Χριστιανῶν κινηθέντα διωγμό, συνελήφθησαν καὶ ὁδηγήθηκαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἔπαρχου Ρουστικοῦ. Ὁμολόγησαν μὲ παρρησία τὸν Χριστὸ ὡς Ἀληθινὸ Θεὸ καὶ ὑπέμειναν τὰ σκληρὰ βασανιστήρια στὰ ὁποῖα ὑπεβλήθησαν. Ἀποκεφαλίσθηκαν, τὸ 166 μ.Χ., περιβληθέντες ἔτσι τὸν ἀμαράντινο στέφανο τοῦ μαρτυρίου.
